Wilson Combat Frame with Fitted Slide and Barrel
For about a year I have had a plan on the table for some sort of 1911 project for this site. The two paths I have been considering are buying a used or low cost new 1911 and reworking it from the ground up or buying a frame and slide pre-fitted, checkered and cut for sights. As an offshoot of this I have a Wilson Combat .22lr Conversion (Marvel) that will also be fitted to the 1911.
Currently the fitted frame and slide combination is the direction I”m leaning. Later this week I am visiting a few gun shops, who knows maybe something will turn up.

Well the trips to the local gun shops were a bust. Seriously lacking in the 1911 dept. Most likely a sign of the unstable political climate here in Connecticut. That’s not a discussion for this site though. The search continues.
